LXG 3 - LEGEA ROMA 0
By Paulus Romanus
LXG coach Sir Paulus Romanus hailed the 3-0 Champions League thrashing of Legea Roma as the greatest European afternoon of his 2-year coaching time.
LXG tore into the visitors from the kick-off and a scintillating performance from start to finish was rewarded with two goals from Endrik Bip Bip, who started and ended the scoring, and one from Martijn Van Rotterdam.
On a sunny (40 °C) day LXG supporters were scared by the determination of Totti and C. signalling their intention to come to Belgium for the away victory of Preliminary Champions League campaign.
Tactical preparations were conducted by Coach Paulus Romanus in Parliament's cafeteria with Legea Roma players walking calmly around and sure of their arrogance power. LXG army was ready for 'la première' of its Champions League campaign: two great returns from LXG legion, Sada Schmeichel and Gergiatous Anastopoulus Bom Bom George Parakaló.
National anthems sounded high in the sky and exchange of gift signalled the fairness desire to enjoy a European soccer match.
Legea Roma looked the more dangerous early on, with Totti and bold De Rossi sending a well-struck effort just wide after five minutes and Andrea D'Alessandro soon after firing in a shot from outside the box which Sada Schmeichel parried away at his near post.
LXG responded in the 9th minute with a magnificent long-run effort on the right wing from, Marco 7-UP (did you feel the derby Lazio boy?), dribbling three players and offering an amazing ball to Endrik Bip Bip who was 'not too fast' this time and smashed the ball into Roma's net.
Five minutes later another great action from Pineda Copacabana, Shaju King of Barbados and Martijn Van Rotterdam brought the last one on a man-to-man with Roma keeper: too easy for the Dutchman to take the second with his left-footed touch.
LXG defence was marvellously directed by marble Gio Maldini and Titus Rrrrrrrrrmoumania in the centre and with Martin Beckenbauer on the left back to pick up his international duty in an extraordinary way. At the other side, Peter Puskas, was devastating on the right wing, orchestrating a 'sovra-position' with Marco Lazio and Paulus Romanus.
Two minutes before half time Bom Bom George stroke a great shot ahead from the penalty spot which was saved by Roma goally and denied to Greek gladiator of a special joy on his return to the European Cup matches.
Half time: LXG 2 Legea Roma 0.
News had just filtered around BSB Tervuren that Roma was going to make tactical changes and bring in new sign De Roberto on the left wing, but Coach Romanus had more resources from his squad to contra-attack the Roma's player: Marco Lazio, David Copacabana and King of Duvel were always finding their way towards Roma's net by playing a great 'torello' in the midfield.
Marco 7-Up had three chances to increase the score but strangely decided to save more for the return game in "Stadio Olimpico" in three weeks time.
Two more things to add: Pineda Copacabana invited Roma's captain to take a shower together after the game but the insensitive Italian did not understand the good spirit of the LXG captain and instead of accepting the invitation boxed him on his face. Which was the result? Well, noose broken and no chance to have paella together.
The second thing to be noted was the third home team goal: a real master piece of fast play. The corner kicked by Legea Roma was blocked by Sada Schmeichel who did a long ball throw with his arm to Peter Puskas who flew on the right wing and painted a fantastic cross headed in by Endrik Bip Bip.
Bom Bom Gergiatous, Marco Lazio and Paulus Romanus failed to make the most of goals as LXG tried to force more goals before referee whistled the end of the match.
Legionnaires saluted applauding supporters confident to continue a glorious undefeated march in 2007 also during the next matches.
